Over 99% Support Development Plans at Pontin’s

Ocean Parcs, owner of Pontin’s, is delighted to announce that over 99% of local residents, businesses and stakeholders fully support its proposed plans to develop Pontin’s Holiday Park at Ainsdale on Sea, Southport. Towards the end of 2009 a consultation process began with local residents, businesses, and stakeholders. The process was launched with a series of public exhibitions where Ocean Parcs set out its plans for the redevelopment of the Holiday Park at Ainsdale on Sea and sought feedback and input to the principles of design and development through a survey.

A staggering 99% of respondents who completed a questionnaire that was available both at the exhibitions and online supported the redevelopment of the Holiday Park and over 94% supported the outline and principle of development put forward by Ocean Parcs for the proposed Ocean Village development.

The vast majority of respondents also supported plans for the inclusion of health, leisure and recreational facilities and for open access to local residents.  Over 450 local residents and stakeholders attended the exhibitions.

Ocean Parcs is pleased with the progress towards the delivery of this significant Ocean Village development and is keen to get started in Southport as soon as possible. The planning application process is proceeding well and it is anticipated will be submitted later this year.     Current view on timing for this £100 million development is a start on site around late summer/autumn in 2011.
