Pontin’s Celebrates Record Bookings Up 25%
Pontin’s the UK’s leading holiday company announces today that it has experienced record bookings with an increase of over 25%. Ian Smith – Chief Executive – said: “This is excellent news and just confirms that we are delivering on our strategy to provide value for money breaks in the UK”.
Holiday sales are gathering momentum with current bookings up by 25% and it is clear that more and more people are staying at home and enjoying great British value for money holidays. As well as significant increases to the call centres Pontin’s has experienced significant increases in the levels of requests for brochures/holiday bookings that it has not encountered for many years.
Ian Smith, continued: “Since acquiring this business just over a year or so ago, we have seen an astonishing turnaround in not only sales and bookings but also staff retention levels. Importantly our development plans have drawn considerable positive reactions from guests, customers, suppliers, local businesses, local MPs, local authorities and local councillors alike.

“Our £50million redevelopment plans are progressing along in line with the Board’s expectations with planning applications being progressed. However, like most businesses in a tough market place although we are doing incredibly well and will continue to do so, we need to continue to both grow and develop the business and this cannot be done by organic means alone. Thus we are looking at strategic opportunities to acquire businesses that fit with our core product and will add value for money. With this in mind I can confirm the Board is currently in discussion regarding the appointment of a firm of City Financial Advisors with a view to exploring strategic acquisition opportunities”.
